LOS ANGELES, October 20. /TASS/. Russian defenseman of Los Angeles Kings team of the National Hockey League Slava Voynov has been arrested on charges of domestic violence and suspended from all club activities, the NHL said on Monday.

The NHL said Voynov's suspension was imposed for the period of the criminal investigation in order not to harm "the legitimate interests and/or reputation of the League."

Voynov, 24, has two assists in six games played for the Los Angeles Kings this season.

Another Russian hockey player, Semyon Varlamov of Colorado Avalanche, was arrested on the same charges in late October 2013. The charges were dropped two months later.
