MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Athletes from 32 countries will take part in the European Wrestling Championships to be held in Russia’s Kaspiysk, North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan, on April 26-May 6, acting head of the republic, Vladimir Vasilyev, told a news conference at TASS on Tuesday.
"Athletes from 32 countries are expected to take part in the event, about 5,000 competitors and guests in all," he said.
"Interest to the championships is very high, we are sure it will be a representative and interesting event. Wrestlers are people of specific character, they are devoted to sport, are cult figures for many people. It is our chance to demonstrate hospitality that is so typical of North Caucasian people."
