TYUMEN, March 25. /TASS/. Russia’s Maxim Tsvetkov has won gold in 15km mass start men’s race at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Tyumen on Sunday.

Tsvetkov finished clean in 37 minutes and 37.03 seconds. Erlend Bjoentegaard of Norway finished second, 2.7 seconds back, also clean. The bronze medal went to Boe Johannes Thingnes, also of Norway, who was 16.6 seconds back, with two penalties.

It was Tsvetkov’s, 26, first gold medal at World Cup events. Earlier, he won two silver medals, in a sprint race in Italy’s Antholz (Season 2015-2016) and in a pursuit event in Sweden’s Ostersund (Season 2016-2017).
