MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. France’s football team will arrive in St. Petersburg for a friendly match against the Russian national football squad on Monday, March 26, said the Russian Football Union on Saturday.
"On March 26, the French national team will arrive by plane and later in the day will hold pre-match events," the press service said, adding the Russian football squad would arrive in the city a day earlier.
As part of preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Russian national football team will play the friendly match against the national team of France in St. Petersburg on March 27.
On Friday, the Brazilian national football squad defeated the Russian national side with a confident 3-0 win in a friendly match at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Russia selected 11 host cities to be the venues for the matches of the 2018 World Cup and they are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Samara.
The matches of the 2018 World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums located in the 11 aforementioned cities across Russia. Two of the stadiums are located in the Russian capital.
