MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Official garments for the Russian athletes competing at the 2018 Winter Olympics have been submitted to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for approval, Anastasia Zadorina, the head of Moscow-based sportswear brand ZA Sport (the official designer of Olympic kits for Russian athletes), told TASS on Wednesday.

Earlier, the IOC released requirements for the Russian athletes’ Olympic kits and accessories at the 2018 Olympics.

"Yesterday, we unveiled the uniform in line with all technical requirements," Zadorina said. "Our uniform has just been submitted to the International Olympic Committee for approval."

An IOC commission, led by Samuel Schmid, established that Russia allegedly employed a system of manipulations with doping samples collected from national athletes.

Based on the commission’s findings, the IOC announced its decision on December 5 to suspend the Russian national team from taking part in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea’s PyeongChang over multiple doping abuse allegations.

The IOC, however, stated that doping-free athletes from Russia could go to the 2018 Olympic Games under the classification of neutral athletes, or OAR status, which stands for ‘Olympic Athlete from Russia.’

The upcoming Olympics, which are 23rd Winter Games, will take place in South Korea’s PyeongChang on February 9-25, 2018.
