MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. Russian luger Roman Repilov dedicated his victory at the World Cup race in Lake Placid (USA) to his coaching staff, the entire Russian national team and Russia. The athlete’s remarks were quoted by the press service of the International Luge Federation.
Repilov, 21, showed the result of 1 minute 41,874 seconds on his second run setting a new track record. Russia’s Semen Pavlichenko finished second, while Tucker West of the United States won the bronze medal.
"This doesn’t come as a surprise. I knew I could win here in Lake Placid. I want to dedicate this victory to our coaching staff, the entire Russian team and my country," Repilov was quoted as saying.
