MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. The head coach and the senior assistant coach of the Russian national women’s volleyball team, Konstantin Ushakov and Vladimir Kuzyutkin respectively, have been dismissed from their posts, the head of the Russia’s volleyball governing body announced on Friday.
"Ushakov and Kuzyutkin failed to cope with their duties," Stanislav Shevchenko, the president of the Russian Volleyball Federation (RVF), told journalists.
The decision to dismiss both coaches was made on Friday during a session of the RVF’s presidium.
The presidium of the Russian Volleyball Federation earlier stated that results of the Russian national women team’s performance at the 2017 European Champion were unsatisfactory.
The Russian national squad reached the quarterfinals stage of the 2017 Women's European Volleyball Championship, which was jointly hosted by Azerbaijan and Georgia between September 22 and October 1, and failed to advance further losing to the national team of Turkey.
