MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Vladimir Kazachenok who used to be a well-known player of Russia’s FC Zenit Saint Petersburg has passed away at the age of 64, the club’s website reported.
"One of the best players in the club’s history, Vladimir Alexandrovich Kazachenok, died on March 26 at the age of 64. The club offers its deep condolences to his relatives and friends," the statement said.
While playing for Zenit, Kazachenok played 219 matches scoring 78 goals. In 1980, he became a bronze medalist of the USSR championship as a member of that team. He also played for Dynamo Moscow winning the USSR Cup with the team. After completing his playing career he worked as a coach in Dynamo St. Petersburg, FC Khimki and the Estonian Kalev football club.
