MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. A final decision about Russian athletes’ participation in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea’s PyeongChang will be taken at a session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in September in Peru, President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Alexander Zhukov said on Tuesday.
"Currently, IOC commissions continue their work," he said in an interview with Russia’s Match TV. "I think all the ‘i’s" will be dotted at an IOC session in September."
In July 2016, the IOC set up two separate commissions to probe doping abuse allegations in Russian sports as well as alleged involvement of state officials in manipulations with performance enhancing drugs, particularly at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia’s Sochi.
