MARSEILLES (France), December 10. /TASS/. Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva has won with a world record in the short program at ISU Junior & Senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2016/17 held in the French city of Marseilles.
Medvedeva earned 79.21 points. The former record was set by Japan’s Mao Asada (78.66 points) at the world championship in 2014.
Canada’s Kaetlyn Osmond is at the second place after the short program with 75.54 points, followed by Japan’s Satoko Miyahara, and Russia’s Anna Pogorilaya with 73.29 points, Elena Radionova with 68.98 points and Maria Sotskova with 65.74 points.
The figure skaters will show their free skating programs on Saturday. The Grand Prix finals will end on December 11.
