MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/. The format of the forthcoming contest for Russian parathletes who have been barred from participation in the 2016 Games is still being discussed, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has told TASS.
"All of them must have a chance to display their potential," he said.
Mutko speculated the competitions might be arranged as demonstration shows.
"It should not be ruled out that it will be just a demonstration. After all, our parathletes don’t have many rivals inside the country. In any case each result will be registered," Mutko said.
"We will support each athlete," he promised.
As the president of Russia’s Paralympics Committee, Vladimir Lukin, told TASS earlier, the competitions for all Russian parathletes barred from the 2016 Games will take place at sports facilities near Moscow on September 7.
