GENEVA, August 19 /TASS/. The International Olympic Committee has stripped the Russian athletics team of the 2008 Olympic silver medals in a 4x400 m relay race won in Beijing, the IOC reported on its website.
The decision, which came into force immediately, was made after the re-checking of the 2008 Olympic doping samples. Kapachinskaya’s doping sample came up positive for two banned substances - stanozolol and turinabol. Other team members include Yulia Gushchina, Lyudmila Litvinova and Tatyana Firova.
