MOSCOW, August 16. /TASS/. All medals the Russian Olympic team has won up to now in the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio, are well-deserved, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko told TASS.
As of now the Russian Olympic team has gained 35 medals (11 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze).
"There has been no runaway victories. Each one (medal) has been well-deserved, each one is (the result of) huge efforts of all those involved, from doctors to coachers, from sparing partners to presidents of federations. Each medal has been gained through unbelievable work, with some of them expected and some groundbreaking," he said, adding that "Russian athletes are demonstrating the Russian character."
The 2016 Olympic Summer Games will end on August 21.
