RIO DE JANEIRO, August 14. /TASS/. Maria Paseka of Russia has won the silver medal in women’s vault at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Sunday.
Paseka scored 15.253 points. Simone Biles of the United States won the gold medal with 15.966 points. Bronze went to Giulia Steingruber of Switzerland who scored 15.216 points.
Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan, 41, who competes at her seventh Olympic Games, finished seventh, with 14.833 points. Another Russian gymnast Seda Tukhtalian failed to qualify for the finals.
By now, Russia has won 26 medals, including seven gold, eleven silver and eight bronze.
