RIO DE JANEIRO, August 12. /TASS/. The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) turned to the organizers of the 2016 Summer Games in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro over reports over a desecrated Russian national flag in the Olympic Village, Lev Savin, one of the Russian delegation’s executives, told TASS on Friday.
Russian synchronized swimmer Alexandra Patskevich earlier wrote in her Instagram that she and her teammates first discovered in their room that unidentified persons tore down the Russian national flag tarnishing it and then the flag disappeared.
"We know about the situation only from the account of the athlete," Savin said in an interview with TASS. "We have already turned to the organizers with the request to investigate the incident and eventually settle it."
