RIO DE JANEIRO, August 9. /TASS/. Russia’s team ranks 7th in the unofficial overall team’s medal standings after the third day of the Rio Olympics. Russia has ten medals - two gold, five silver and three bronze.
On Monday, the Russian squad won five medals.
Russian shooter Vladimir Maslennikov secured a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle men’s event. Russian sabre fencer Yana Yegoryan (22) won the Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro after defeating her compatriot Sofia Velikaya in the final. Russian swimmer Yuliya Yefimova won silver in women's 100 breaststroke.
Russian men’s gymnastics team won the Olympic silver medal in men’s gymnastics team final.The Russian gymnasts scored 271.453 points losing to the Japanese (274.094). Chinese athletes were third (271.122).The Russian men’s gymnastics team comprised Ivan Stretovich, Nikolay Kuksenkov, David Belyavsky, Denis Ablyazin and Nikita Nagornyi.
