RIO DE JANEIRO, August 9. /TASS/. Russian man gymnasts showed an incredible result in the team all-round at the Olympic Games in Rio and displayed smooth teamwork. Vassily Titov, the President of the Federation or Artistic Gymnastics of Russia told TASS.
Men’s artistic gymnastics team got silver in the Olympic team all-round earlier. They scored 271.453 points. The Japanese first with 274.094 points and the Chinese, third with 271.122 points.
"Our guys did an excelled job and it’s a fantastic result," Vassily Titov said. "Unfortunately, they could have done the horizontal bar routine better and some other things but we showed real teamwork and they had the will to fight."
"That’s a strong enough team and they’re on the rise," he said.
Titov said women’s team would also be claiming the main awards in the team all-round. "
"The female team is also strong enough," he said. "They did much in the qualification round. The results of qualification give us the grounds for big aspirations but the main struggle is still ahead."
Silver, which the Russian team on Monday, was the first award in men’s team all-round over a period of sixteen years.
At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2000, Russian gymnasts got bronze in this type of competitions.
