RIO DE JANEIRO, August 4. /TASS/. The independent commission of the International Olympic Committee has allowed all members of Russia’s judo team to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, the head of the European Judo Union, Sergey Soloveichik, has told TASS.
"The IOC has approved of the list of Russia’s judo wrestlers, previously supported by the International Judo Federation. In full," Soloveichik said.
Earlier, the president of the International Judo Federation, Marius Wieser, said that eleven Russian judo wrestlers had been allowed to participate in the Olympics. The lineup of the Russian team now looks as follows: Yekaterina Valkova, Irina Dolgova, Natalya Kuzyutina, Kseniya Chibisova, Kirill Denisov, Beslan Mudranov, Mikhail Pulyayev, Renat Saidov, Tagir Khaibulayev, Khasan Khalmurzayev and Denis Yartsev.
The 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro on August 5-21.
