MOSCOW, August 3 /TASS/. The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) has launched investigations against 11 Russian football players named in the WADA independent commission’s report, the FIFA press service told TASS on Wednesday.
The WADA Independent Commission, chaired by Canadian sports law professor, Richard McLaren, released a report on July 18 on the results of its probe into the accusations of doping and manipulation of tests by Russian athletes and officials at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
"FIFA jointly with WADA and McLaren has launched a full-scale investigation against 11 Russian football players," the FIFA press service said.
The Russian Football Union confirmed on Wednesday it has received a FIFA inquiry into the doping samples of 11 Russian football players named in the report.
