RIO DE JANEIRO, August 2. /TASS/. The International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) session has supported the IOC Executive Board’s decision of July 24 not to ban Russian athletes from the Rio 2016 Olympics.
The decision was passed at the IOC’s 129th session on Tuesday.
Apart from that, IOC members agreed that the global anti-doping system "needs full review," as IOC President Thomas Bach put it, after the upcoming Olympic Games in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro. The IOC summit on June 21 called on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to convene an extraordinary world conference to discuss most pressing doping-related issues
