RIO DE JANEIRO, July 31. /TASS/. A three person International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board panel - Germany's IOC Athletes' Commission chair Claudia Bokel, Turkey's Medical Commission chair U·ur Erdener and Spain's Juan Antonio Samaranch - is going to make a final decision on participation of Russian athletes in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, according to Inside the games citing IOC Presidential spokesman Mark Adams,
According to him, all decisions by the Opening Ceremony are expected by Friday, August 5.
On July 24, the International Olympic Committee held a meeting of its executive board to discuss possible blanket ban of Russian athletes at the Rio Olympics. The IOC executive committee decided not to ban the Russian team. Individual decisions on Russian athletes have been referred to relevant international federations.
The 31st summer Olympic Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro on August 5-21, 2016.
