LONDON, July 5 /TASS/. Russia’s Elena Vesnina outgunned 19th-seed Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia (6-2, 6-2) in a Wimbledon Women’s Singles Quarterfinal match on Tuesday (the tournament’s prize fund is 28.1 million British pounds).
Vesnina will meet American Serena Williams, the world’s number one and the reigning Wimbledon champion, who beat Anastasiya Pavlyuchenkova of Russia in another quarterfinal match.
The 130th Wimbledon tennis tournament, the third in the Grand Slam series, will end in London on July 10.
