MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. Team England scored in the added three-minute period of the 2016 UEFA Euro Cup match against Wales to snatch the 2-1 victory over the Welsh squad on Thursday afternoon in the French city of Lens.
The Welsh team opened the score of the match in the 42nd minute after forward Gareth Bale cannoned a long-distance free kick into the right corner of the English goal.
England’s Jamie Vardy tied the game in the 56th minute of the match at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis and the score of 1-1 remained unchanged as the match time expired.
Referees, however, awarded three minutes of additional game time and England’s second half late replacement Daniel Sturridge netted another ball for his team to seal the final score at 2-1.
All teams in Group B, which besides England and Wales also include the teams from Russia and Slovakia, played two matches after the biggest European football tournament kicked off last Friday in France.
