MARSEILLE /FRANCE/, June 11 /TASS/. No Russians were injured or detained in fan clashes, which broke out in Marseille, southern France, late on Thursday ahead of the UEFA 2016 Euro Cup group stage match between the teams of England and Russia, a Russian Interior Ministry representative told TASS.
Clashes between British and French fans erupted late on Thursday night and are still under way. "No Russians have been detained during the clashes. No Russian nationals have been hurt," the representative who had been sent to France to help the French colleagues to guard law and order at Euro-2016 said.
The England-Russia match will start at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille at 22:00 Moscow time on Saturday.
