SAINT-DENIS, France, June 10. /TASS/. The ceremony of opening UEFA's EURO 2016 championship took place on Friday at Stade de France stadium in Saint-Denis.
In the first game of the group stage, France plays vs Romania.
The official song of the tournament was performed by the popular French DJ, David Guetta. Swedish singer and songwriter Zara Larsson performed together with him in the opening show.
All in all, about 500 people took part in it. Only twenty-five of them are showbiz professionals and the rest are volunteers.
The main idea of the opening ceremony was to familiarize the guests of the championship with French culture. The pitch was transformed with the aid of decorations weighing more than 5 tons altogether into a French guarden with its inalienable feature, the merry-go-round.
The ceremony was crowned with the spectator stands stransforming into the flags of the twenty-four countries that take part in EURO 2016.
