KRASNOYARSK, June 5. /TASS/. A countdown clock to the students’ winter games Universiade-2019 was started on Sunday in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk, in Siberia.
"Now the local people, officials and constructors will see time left to beginning of the games," head of the local government Viktor Tomenko said at the official ceremony, adding exactly 1,000 days remain to the Universiade opening.
For hosting of the international winter students games the city will reconstruct 20 sports, medical and transport facilities. The Soviet Union and Russia earlier hosted only two summer Universiades: in 1973 in Moscow and in 2013 in Kazan.
