MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. The goals scored by members of Russia’s national football team in a friendly match against the French squad were top-notch, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has told TASS.
"We scored great goals. We have great potential. There were smart, gorgeous football attacks. Kokorin showed that our team has great potential, he scored an excellent goal," he said. "We need to consolidate this and not feel shy. The French team has some really gifted players from the Real, Arsenal and Juventus. We need to realize this."
Russia’s national soccer team lost 2-4 to France in a friendly match that took place in Paris’ suburb Saint-Denis at the Stade de France stadium on Tuesday.
For the Russian team, Alexander Kokorin scored in the 56th minute and Yury Zhirkov in the 68th. For the French team, N’Golo Kante scored in the 8th minute, Andre-Pierre Gignac in the 38th, Dimitri Payet in the 63rd and Kingsley Coman in the 76th minute.
Russia’s national team will hold the next friendly match as part of preparation for Euro 2016 on June 1. It will play against the Czech Republic.
