SEOUL, March 18. /TASS/. Russia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea handed in to leader of the Russian short-track national team Viktor Ahn a Russian passport for his newborn daughter, the Russian diplomatic authority told TASS on Friday.
"On March 17, Russia’s Ambassador Alexander Timonin met six-time Olympic champion Viktor Ahn and handed in to the well-known athlete, who is a Russian citizen from 2011, a passport and other documents confirming citizenship of the Russian Federation to his newborn daughter," the embassy said. "The ambassador greeted Viktor’s family with birth of the daughter, and wished to the athlete new achievements and success at future competitions, including the Olympic Games due in 2018 in South Korea’s Pyeongchang."
Viktor Ahn was a spectator of the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, which took place in Seoul on March 12-13. He was on that trip together with his wife.
