MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Russian Sports Ministry has approved of a plan for raising the effectiveness of athletes’ preparations for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.
According to the Ministry’s website, the plan was endorsed at a joint meeting of the Sports Ministry board and the Russian Olympic Committee’s Executive. Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko and ROC President Aleksandr Zhukov co-chaired the event.
Extra measures for raising the effectiveness of athletes’ preparations for the 2016 Summer Olympics was considered. A special emphasis was placed on anti-doping measures. The need was stressed for raising the qualification of medical personnel and arranging courses of instruction for athletes, coaches and specialists.
The Rio de Janeiro Olympics will be held on August 5-21.
