NYON, March 4. /TASS/. The Executive Committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) appointed on Friday Theodore Theodoridis as acting secretary general of the European governing body of football.
He was appointed in place of Gianni Infantino, who confirmed his resignation from the post on Friday. Last week at the FIFA Extraordinary Congress in Zurich, Infantino was elected the president of the world’s governing body of football.
Theodoridis, who has worked at UEFA since 2008, may be confirmed as the organization’s secretary general at the next UEFA Congress, due to take place in Budapest on May 3.
