WASHINGTON, November 29. /TASS/. Russian weightlifter Alexey Lovchev has won the gold medal at the IWF World Weightlifting Championship in Houston, TX, in the +105 kg weight class.

He set a world record with the overall result of 475 kg. The silver medal went to Georgian weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze (454), and bronze - to Estonia’s Mart Seim (438).

Medals in 15 Olympic events are contested at the Houston World Championship - 8 among men and 7 among women. The championship will end on Sunday.
