ST. PETERSBURG, November 24. /TASS/. Russia’s Zenit St. Petersburg defeated Spain’s Valencia 2-0 in a home match on Tuesday and reached the knockout stage of the Champions League as the group winner.
Zenit stay top in Group H with 15 points after five consecutive wins, while second-place Valencia has six points.
With a 100% record in the Champions League, Zenit St. Petersburg secured qualification in the knockout stage after a win in its fourth match vs France’s Lyon (2-0).
Zenit is to play away match with third-place Gent (Belgium) on December 9.
