MOSCOW, September 18. /TASS/. The 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia will make the history of global sports and the country will do everything possible to provide a decent reception of national teams and international football fans, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.
"Everything will be done to decently host the planet’s best 32 national teams, to provide the necessary conditions, which would allow them to display their best skills and present the multimillion audience of fans with the real grand football," Putin announced via a video linkup to the participants of the ceremony in Moscow’s Red Square marking the 1,000-day countdown to the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday.
"We promise to organize a grand sports holiday, which I am sure will make the history of the world sports and global football," the Russian president added.
