MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. Russian water polo player Vladislav Timakov has died suddenly after his team’s training session in Bulgaria, the Russian Water Polo Federation said on Sunday.
"Vladislav died suddenly during a training session of the [Volograd-based Sintez] club in Bulgaria. Details will be available on Monday," the spokesman for the federation told TASS.
The press service of the Russian Water Polo Federation said Timakov, 23, had no health problems. "Vladislav underwent medical examination ahead of the recent aquatics championships. He was absolutely all right," the spokesman said.
Timakov has been playing as centre forward with the Sintez club since 2014. Before that, he played for the Moscow region’s Shturm-2002 club.
He was a member of Russia’s national team at the recent FINA World Championships in Kazan. He was a silver medal winner of the Universiade-2013.
