Russia second after China in medals standings on Day 10 of FINA World Championships

KAZAN, August 3. /TASS/. Russia’s national team maintained its second place in the overall medals standings as Day 10 of the 2015 FINA World Championships wrapped up in the country’s Republic of Tatarstan on Sunday night.

On Monday, the Russian team won no medals.

With more than a week remaining of the FINA World Championships, hosted by Russia for the first time ever, the Top 10 in the overall medals standings is as follows (as of August 3):

1. China - 24 medals (11 gold, 9 silver, 4 bronze)

2. Russia - 13 medals (8-4-1)

3. The United States - 9 medals (4-3-2)

4. France - 3 medals (3-0-0)

5. Great Britain - 8 medals (2-1-5)

6. Italy - 9 medals (2-0-7)

7. Brazil - 4 medals (1-2-1)

8. Germany - 4 medals (1-1-2)

9. Hungary - 3 medals (1-1-1)

10. South Africa - 2 medals (1-1-0)

The 2015 FINA (the International Swimming Federation) World Championships is underway in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, between July 24 and August 9 bringing together some 2,400 athletes from over 190 countries.
