MOSCOW, July 22. /TASS/. A new coach of the Russian national football team should be appointed by August, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on Wednesday.
"I'd like this to be done as soon as possible," Mutko said. "The issue must be closed by the beginning of August. It even may be closed today."
Last week the Russian Football Union (RFU) announced the termination of the contract with Italian coach Fabio Capello who took over the national team in July 2012.
Acting RFU president Nikita Simonyan said earlier that FC CSKA coach Leonid Slutsky could replace Capello.
