MONTE-CARLO, December 8. /TASS/. The International Olympic Committee approved on Monday new bidding process rules, which allow holding some of the Olympic events outside the host city or country.

The committee has started discussing the 40-point plan proposed by IOC President Thomas Bach to reform the Olympic movement. The new system aims at making the bidding process less costly and more flexible.

The IOC has also ruled to restrict the number of athletes taking part in the Summer and Winter Olympics to 10,500 and 2,900 respectively.
