MOSCOW, September 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Denis Lebedev of Russia defended his World Boxing Association champion title knocking out Pawel Kolodziej of Poland in the weight category up to 90.71 kg on Saturday.
Up to date, Lebedev has won 26 fights (20 by knockout) and lost two. Kolodziej suffered his first defeat after 33 victories (18 by knockout).
Lebedev had his last fight in May of 2013, losing to Guillermo Jones of Panama. However the belt went back to Lebedev after doping had been detected in his opponent’s blood test.
The two were required to meet in a new duel which was scheduled for April 2014 but was cancelled hours before the beginning after Jones’ doping control tests had turned out to be positive again.
