Under the initial schedule, the game was to be played in the southeastern Ukrainian city Dnipropetrovsk at Dnipro’s home stadium but UEFA banned it in the wake of the tense political situation in the east and southeast of Ukraine.
FC Copenhagen asked it earlier to transfer the game to a neutral territory, saying it could not charter a flight to Dnepropetrovsk as the European airlines refused to fly over the Ukrainian territory. UEFA turned down the request.
