RIO DE JANEIRO, July 04 /ITAR-TASS/. The quarterfinal phase of the World Soccer Cup Finals (WCF) will begin Friday with France versus Germany and Brazil vs. Colombia matches.
Despite a lot of sensations and pleasant surprises at the tournament, it was exclusively teams, which won in their groups without suffering a single defeat, that qualified for the WCF quarterfinals.
In the two matches scheduled for July 4, there will be no obvious favourites any longer, although the Colombian national team, who won four victories at the WCF and all within regulation time, stands out against the overall vivid background.
Winners in the above-mentioned two matches will then meet in a semifinal match in Belo Horizonte on July 8.
