LONDON, May 20. /ITAR-TASS/. The management of British football club Manchester United is set to allocate £150 million for purchase of new players, local media report. The new chief coach of Manchester United Louis van Gaal has the task to win the English Premier League in the next season.

The appointment of Louis van Gaal was announced May 19. The contract with the coach is concluded for 3 years. The Dutch coach will start working after World Cup in Brazil, where he will be managing the national team of the Netherlands.

Ryan Giggs, who was earlier interim player-manager, will be assisting to van Gaal. The Welsh footballer earlier announced that he finished his professional career.

Van Gaal has succeeded Scotsman David David Moyes, who was sacked for poor results in the current season. The management reshuffle in Manchester United was triggered by the 0-2 loss in the game with Everton (Moyes’s ex-team) in the 35th tour of the English Premier League. Due to this failure Manchester United for the first time in 19 years did not manage to get to the Champions League, and the squad ranked 7th in the tournament’s results.

The team also failed to get through the FA Cup, losing to Swansea City in 1/32 finals.
