British rider Cameron Waugh dies of injuries after accident at Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge

ABU DHABI, April 7. /ITAR-TASS/. British motorbike racer Cameron Waugh has died of injuries received in an accident that occurred at one of the most prestigious off-road rallies Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. The race promoter reported this on Monday.

The accident happened on the 155 km of the distance on Sunday. Polish racer Jakub Przygonski found Cameron Waugh, applied first aid to the athlete and called the physicians by sending an alarm signal through satellite communication. The paramedics came within 13 minutes and rushed the racer to hospital. However, Cameron Waugh died overnight to Monday.

The race promoters expressed their condolences to the racer’s family members.
