IRKUTSK, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/ Russian hockey veterans will meet March 29 with an amateur team from Eastern Siberia. Lake Baikal was chosen for the match. Hockey players are to enter the ice near the village of Listvyanka, where the depth of the lake is more than 1 kilometer, organizers report.

Such famous masters as Vyacheslav Fetisov, Sergey Makarov, Alexander Mogilny, Pavel Bure, Valeri Kamensky,  Andrei Kovalenko, Alexander Kozhevnikov,  Alexei Zhamnov,  Irek Gimaev will take part in the game. Legendary players promise to hold an autograph session on the ice of the world's largest fresh-water lake.

The organizers expect to increase the popularity of amateur hockey, as well as "to promote this unique natural region in the areas of tourism and recreation among public and the business community ".

The game will be one of a number of unique events held during the league season. The first one was a hockey marathon featuring 300 amateur players which lasted for 26 hours.
