SOCHI, March 13, /ITAR-TASS/. Japan’s alpine skier Takeshi Suzuki on Thursday won the gold medal in men’s sitting slalom event at the XI Paralympic Winter Games in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi. His time after two runs was 1 minute 53.78 seconds.

Austria’s Philipp Bonadimann (1:56.46) and Austria's Roman Rabl (1:56.64) claimed the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Team Russia’s only representative in the category Nikolay Shuvalov failed to finish the second run as he made a mistake and missed a gate.
