SOCHI, March 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian skier Roman Petushkov has won the gold medal in men’s 1 km sprint sitting race at the Paralympic Winter Games in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi on Wednesday.

Another Russian skier Grigory Murygin has clinched the silver medal. Maksim Yarovyi from Ukraine has secured the bronze medal. Another Russian skier Irek Zaripov came fourth.

Petushkov became four-fold champion at the Sochi Paralympics.

Russian national team has already repeated its best result in the number of medals won at the Winter Paralympics. Russia has already won 38 medals in Sochi. Russian Paralympians have clinched the same number of medals at the previous Paralympic Winter Games in Canada’s Vancouver in 2010.

Russia has also repeated its best result for the number of 13 gold medals won at the Paralympic Winter Games in Italy’s Turin in 2006.
