SOCHI, March 11. /ITAR-TASS/. The 7,000-seat Shayba Arena was packed with roaring spectators almost to the full capacity as the 2014 Paralympic Games sledge ice hockey match between hosts Russia and the United States kicked off.
This is the first Paralympic Winter games for the Russian sledge ice hockey team. In two previous games Russia lost to South Korea 2-3 and then creamed the Italian team 7-0.
Group B top seed the United States, who are the two-time Paralympic champions, already punched its ticket to the semifinals after a 3-0 over South Korea on Sunday.
