SOCHI, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Flags of 45 countries participating in the Winter Paralympics in Sochi would be hoisted in welcome ceremonies in the athletes' village in the next three days, the press service of the Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee said.
Representatives from national Paralympic committees, mayors and vice-mayors of Paralympic villages will participate in the ceremonies, which will be accompanied by bright cultural and entertainment performances with the participation of the Games talismans Ray of Light and Snowflake.
Members of national Paralympic committees have already left inscriptions on the Paralympics Wall, which will be opened in an official ceremony on March 6. Souvenir warm caps with earflaps, decorated with Sochi-2014 Games symbols, were presented to athletes, honored guests and village residents.
The delegation of South Korea was the first to be welcomed at a ceremony. Its flag was raised on March 4.
The Russian delegation, which consists of 170 people, including 69 athletes, will be welcomed on March 6.
