BERLIN, March 04. /ITAR-TASS/. The German national team left on Tuesday for the Sochi Paralympic Games in a good mood, looking forward to sports competitions, the DPA news agency reported, quoting the head of the German Disability Sports Union, Friedhelm Julius Beucher.
It said there were 13 athletes in the team. “We are not turning a blind eye to the events going on in the world,” said at the Frankfurt-on-Main airport where he was seeing off the national team. “However, we are glad that all security services and the Foreign Ministry assessed this trip as not a dangerous one,” he said. “Thus we can assume responsibility for the trip to Sochi,” the sports functionary added.
