MOSCOW, March 02, /ITAR-TASS/. Russian aerobatic performance team Strizhi (Swifts) will make a demonstration flight from an airbase near the Moscow regional town of Kubinka during the Sochi Paralympic Flame relay on Sunday. Deputy Air Force Commander, Hero of Russia Colonel Sergey Kobylash will participate in a ceremony of lighting a bowl of the Paralympic torch in the town of Kubinka, the press service and information department of the Russian Defence Ministry for Air Force reported.
Pilots of the aerobatic performance demonstrator team will show group and solo flying stunts steering fighters MiG-29. Pilots Lieutenant Colonel of Guards Sergey Osyaikin and Major of Guards Dmitry Selivanov will perform sophisticated solo aerobatic stunts.
Pilots will make flying stunts at altitudes from 200 to 1,600 metres for around 15 minutes.
The aerobatic performance demonstrator team Strizhi was formed on May 6, 1991, of best military pilots at the airbase Kubinka and is incorporated in the Lipetsk-based state aviation personnel training and operational evaluation centre.
