SOCHI, February 23, 12:37 /ITAR-TASS/. Tass) - Figure skater Maxim Trankov will bear the flag of Russia at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi on Sunday, president of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov told Itar-Tass.
Maxim Trankov and his partner Tatiana Volosozhar won two gold medals in figure skating team event, the Olympics debut, and in the individual event.
At the opening ceremony of the Games, Russian bobsledder Alexander Zubkov had the honour to do this mission. He has won gold in the two-man bob and is set to pilot the Russian team to new track record and medal in the four-man event later on Sunday.
The closing ceremony will begin at 20:00 Moscow time.
